Is Stress Secretly Causing Your Hair to Fall Out?
First, the honest answer
If you have noticed more hair in your brush or in the shower drain, and life has been hard lately, you are not imagining a connection. But you cannot know it from the outside, and neither can we. Hair sheds for a great many reasons — illness, medication, thyroid, diet, genetics, pregnancy, and yes, stress. In the mirror they look much the same. They are not managed the same way.
Zelene is a spa, not a medical provider. We do not diagnose or treat hair loss. We would rather say that plainly than have you spend an afternoon here hoping it will fix something it cannot.
Who to see
If the shedding is new, sudden, patchy, or simply worrying you, see your doctor or a dermatologist. Hair loss is one of the things they see most often, and several of its causes are very treatable once someone has identified which one you have.
That appointment is usually far less daunting than people expect. You will probably be asked:
One practical thing worth doing before you go: photograph your part line, in the same light, every couple of weeks. Memory is unreliable about this — it tends to swing between "it is fine" and "it is falling out" depending on the day. A photograph from six weeks ago is real evidence, and doctors find it genuinely useful.
What an hour at Zelene actually is
Separately from all of the above — and it is separate — this is what we do offer. Not a remedy for anything. An hour of being looked after, which is a different thing and worth having on its own terms.
🧖♀️
A
proper
wash
A double cleanse with gentle botanical shampoos, warm water, and far more time than anyone gives their own hair at home. Most people tell us afterwards that they had not realised how much was sitting on their scalp.
💆
An
unhurried
massage
Somebody else’s hands, working slowly across the scalp, neck and shoulders. No phone, no screen, nothing to attend to. For a lot of our guests this is the only part of the week where nobody wants anything from them.
🌿
Warmth
and
quiet
Warm towels, essential oils chosen for how they smell rather than what they claim to do, and a room kept deliberately calm. If a particular scent is not for you, say so and we will change it.
🪷
Somewhere
to
stop
Clients often tell us the rest mattered as much as the cleanse. We think that is the honest description of what a head spa is for.
📋 Tell us before you come
If your scalp is sensitive, sore, broken or recently treated — or if you are under a doctor’s care for anything to do with your hair — mention it when you book. We will use gentler formulas, keep pressure light, and skip any area you would rather we left alone. We are not qualified to advise on your condition, but we are very good at working around it.

Zelene Head Spa
Two different things, both worth doing
If stress has been heavy and your hair is on your mind, the useful order is: book the doctor, and take the hour. One of those will tell you what is actually happening. The other will not — but you will feel better for it, and there is no shame in wanting that.
